2024 Trailblazer Award For Women in Chemistry
Purpose
To recognize up to 10 outstanding individuals* in the San Diego region who have demonstrated outstanding promise for contributions to chemistry

Description
The award includes the following:
- Sponsorship to attend the 2025 ACS Spring national conference in San Diego, CA.
- The opportunity to attend an ACS-sponsored award ceremony. This will highlight the accomplishments of the awardees by providing a platform to share their career journey with other chemists and members of ACS.
- The awardee will have the option to participate in a short documentary to share their career journey and provide advice for younger women in chemistry.
Eligibility
- Eligibility: The award is open to all individual* ACS members in all chemistry-related fields working in academic, industrial, government, non-profit, or other employment sectors.
- Individuals*: This includes women (both cis and trans) and persons assigned female at birth (AFAB). For more information regarding the gender-inclusive language used in this document, please visit the ACS Inclusivity Style Guide.
- Educational Requirements: Nominees must have obtained or be in the process of obtaining a bachelor's or associate degree in a chemistry-related field.
- Location: Nominees must be based in the San Diego region.
- Compliance: Nominees must adhere to the American Chemical Society's (ACS) "The Chemist’s Code."
- Non-Discrimination: Applicants will not be discriminated against based on race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- All nominees must uphold high ethical standards.
Nomination Deadline
The deadline for nomination is September 8th through google form submission.
How to Apply
- Nominations: Applicants can either self-nominate or be nominated by another individual for this award. The nominator does not need to be an ACS member.
- Submission: Nominate through the provided Google form.
- Supporting Documents: Submission of the nominee’s resume or C.V. is optional.
