Dear esteemed members,
Last month, I had a great time mingling with some of you at Stone Brewery while enjoying delicious appetizers and Stone’s signature brews. If you missed this event, we have several opportunities on the horizon for you to get to know more of your fellow members and make valuable professional connections. This September, the yearly San Diego ACS Picnic will return from its pandemic hiatus! Expect good food, excellent company, and fun entertainment for the whole family. We could use some extra help in making the event a success. If you have some time this summer to serve on the Picnic Committee, reach out to me at jpgg@sandiegoacs.org.
On that note, if you have been on the fence about becoming more involved in the San Diego ACS leadership, there is no better time than now to start getting your feet wet. At the end of this year, multiple key positions will be vacant including Chair, Chair-elect, and Secretary. In this month’s issue, we feature a helpful infographic to give you an idea the responsibilities that each position entails and who is eligible to run. If you are still an undergraduate, the San Diego ACS could benefit from your voice, ideas, and energy. Positions such as Member-at-Large are open to any due-paying ACS member.
